Matias herring salad is the perfect choice for a party with distinguished guests. Perfect in its simplicity and yet very tasty and nutritious. The perfect accompaniment is a crunchy and fresh garlic baguette.
Ingredients for approx. 4 servings:
– 4 matias herring slices in oil (about 250g) – 1 onion – 2 apples – 2 canned cucumbers – about 200g of sour cream – about 50ml of mayonnaise – 4 radishes – salt, pepper, a pinch of sugar to taste.
Method of preparation:
Peel and finely dice the onion.
Slice the cucumbers similarly to the onions.
Grate the apples together with the peel on coarse mesh.
Cut the herring patches (matias) into pieces of a size suitable for you.
Cut the radishes according to your preference.
Mix them all gently. Season with salt, pepper and a pinch of sugar to taste.
Herring salad tastes best when it is slightly chilled.
