Kopytka are traditional noodles that can appear in a variety of dishes. Both meat and vegetable ones, but also sute. We know examples for sweet, salty or as a side dish for stews. Relatively undemanding in preparation therefore certainly everyone is able to prepare them on their own.

Kopytka – ingredients for approx. 4 servings:

  • ca. 1 kg of potatoes
  • 1 egg
  • 200g wheat flour

Method of preparation:

  1. Wash, peel and boil the potatoes in gently salted water. Once cooked, cool and press through a potato press. Then leave it to cool completely.
  2. Add flour and egg. Knead the whole thing into a uniform dough. Carefully add flour to keep the dough soft and fluffy.
  3. After kneading, transfer the dough to the countertop (sprinkling it with flour beforehand. Divide them into smaller pieces to make it easier to form future noodles.
  4. From each part, form a roll about the thickness of the target noodles, coating it well in flour. After forming, gently flatten the roll and cut it into diagonal pieces.
  5. In the meantime, prepare a large pot of boiling water. Salt the water well.
  6. Cook the kopytka in portions approximately. 2 – 3 min on lightly boiling water stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  7. After boiling, take out the kopytki with a straining spoon and serve immediately.
  8. TASTE !!!
