This excellent recipe is a guarantee that your Karpatka will satisfy even the most demanding palates. Delicious in its simplicity. A delicious dessert that anyone can prepare. A classic carpatta is the perfect choice for coffee or with ice cream.

Ingredients needed:

Steamed dough:

– 1 cup water
– 150g butter (or margarine)
– 1 cup whole wheat flour
– 5 eggs
– pinch of salt
– pinch of baking powder (so on the tip of a knife)

Mass:

– 3 cups of milk
– 300g of butter (You can reduce the amount of butter if you don’t like a very buttery paste)
– ¾ cup of sugar
– 2 teaspoons of vanilla sugar
– 4 heaping tablespoons of whole wheat flour (80g)
– 4 heaping tablespoons of potato flour (80g)
– 2 egg yolks

Method of preparation:

  1. Prepare the steamed dough.
  2. Boil water with margarine. Remove the pot from the stove and, stirring vigorously (preferably with a wooden spoon), slowly add the flour.
  3. After stirring, put the pot back on the stove and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, for approx. 2- 3 minutes. (The batter should be of uniform consistency and gently pull away from the wall of the pot.
  4. Leave the dough to cool for a while. (You can transfer to another dish to speed up cooling).
  5. Add one egg at a time to the warm batter while constantly mixing with a mixer. You can add a little salt
  6. Divide the dough into 2 parts.
  7. Grease one not large rectangular form with margarine and sprinkle with flour. Then spread half of the batter with a spoon in the mold.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven until golden, about. 30 minutes at 180°C.
  9. Bake the other half of the cake in exactly the same way.
  10. Prepare the pudding mixture. Boil 2 cups of milk and sugar. Mix the rest of the milk thoroughly with egg yolks, vanilla sugar and flour.
  11. Efficiently add to the boiling milk, stirring thoroughly to avoid lumps. Cook, approx. 1 minute until the pudding thickens, then let it cool.
  12. Cream the butter with a mixer until fluffy. Then, while mixing, gradually add the cool pudding.

Spread the mixture on one cake. Cover with another. Then put the dough in the refrigerator, for what approx. 3 hours.
